Using Bodhi

These terms describe your use of Bodhi, operated by AATMA NEW YORK LLC, based in New York, United States. By using Bodhi, you agree to these terms. Questions can be sent to support@usebodhi.app.

The service

Bodhi helps you read sources, take notes, organize research and write drafts. Individual local use of Bodhi Desktop is free. Bodhi Sync is an optional subscription for personal cloud storage, synchronization and web access. Sharing, live collaboration and a browser extension are not included in the initial beta.

Beta features and availability may change as we test and improve the service. Keep your own backups and exports of important research. Bodhi is a research tool; you are responsible for checking citations, interpretations and any AI-generated output.

Your account and research

Provide accurate account information and keep your sign-in credentials secure. You must have authority to enter into these terms and use any material you import. Let us know if you believe someone has accessed your account without permission.

You retain ownership of your research. You give us permission to store, process and transmit information only as needed to operate the features you use, including cloud sync, recovery and support, as described in our Privacy policy. Importing a source does not transfer anyone else’s copyright or grant you additional rights to that material.

Acceptable use

Do not use Bodhi to violate the law or another person’s rights, upload malicious software, access someone else’s account or research, or disrupt the service. Do not bypass subscription, storage or access controls. We may restrict access where necessary to address misuse, security threats or legal obligations.

Subscriptions and billing

The initial Bodhi Sync plan is $6 per month or $60 per year in US dollars, plus applicable taxes, with 10 GB of cloud storage. Checkout shows the actual price and any discount before you subscribe. There is no automatic storage-overage billing. AI-provider usage and charges are separate.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the agreed interval until canceled. You can cancel through your account using Manage subscription. Cancellation normally leaves access in place until the end of the current billing period. Our Refund policy describes refund-request windows and how to contact us.

Polar acts as merchant of record for subscription transactions. Its Checkout Buyer Terms also apply to your purchase. A discount does not change the account, storage or acceptable-use rules. A fully discounted invoice grants access only after the subscription is confirmed.

When cloud access ends

When paid entitlement ends or is paused, cloud editing and uploads stop. Retained cloud research has a 90-day read-only recovery period for download and export. Local desktop originals remain on your computer. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account or your local Library.

Research you move to Trash is recoverable for 30 days. After the applicable retention period, eligible cloud data may be removed. Export anything you need to keep, and contact support if you need help recovering access.

Connected services

AI providers, external websites, maps and other integrations have their own terms and availability. You choose which optional services to use and are responsible for any related provider accounts or fees. Bodhi does not guarantee the accuracy of external content or generated answers.

Availability and changes

We work to keep Bodhi reliable, but we cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. These terms do not exclude rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above identifies the current version. We will provide notice of material changes where required. Contact support if you have a question about a change or your subscription.
